Automotive module repair & programming

Bad module
or cluster? Repair•Replace•Program

Component-level repair and programming for TCMs, PCMs, ECMs, ABS modules, BCMs, instrument clusters, and more. Many units are diagnosed on the bench first. If it can be repaired, we fix the actual fault. If it can't, and needs a replacement, we can program it to your vehicle. Serving the Treasure Valley: Boise, Nampa, Caldwell, and surrounding cities.

  • Free module pickup & return for repairs
  • Mobile programming at your location

Services

Modules we repair and program

We find the failed component, repair it at the board level, and test the module on the bench before it goes back in your vehicle.

PCM / ECM / TCM

POWERTRAIN

Engine and transmission computers that won't start the vehicle, won't communicate, or set internal fault codes.

  • No-start and no-communication faults
  • Failed injector, coil, and output driver circuits
  • Water, corrosion, and short-circuit damage
  • Internal processor and power supply faults

ABS modules

ABS / EBCM

Electronic brake control modules with the ABS or traction light on and module faults stored.

  • Pump motor and valve circuit faults
  • Cracked solder joints and failed connections
  • Loss of communication codes
  • Intermittent ABS and traction control lights

Body control modules

BCM

The module behind lighting, locks, windows, and many of the vehicle's accessories.

  • Lighting, locks, windows, and wiper faults
  • Keyless entry and security problems
  • Battery drain caused by the module
  • Water intrusion and burned output circuits

Instrument clusters

IPC

Dead, stuck, or erratic gauges and displays brought back to factory function.

  • Gauge stepper motor replacement
  • Dead clusters and intermittent power
  • Backlighting and display repair
  • Replacement clusters set to your vehicle's actual mileage

Module programming

FLASH / SETUP

New, used, and repaired modules set up so they work in your vehicle.

  • Programming for replacement modules
  • VIN programming for replacement modules
  • Software and calibration updates
  • Security and immobilizer relearns
  • Module configuration and setup after install
  • Mobile programming at your shop or home

Bench diagnostics

TEST

Find out if the module is really the problem before you spend money replacing it.

  • Testing on a vehicle simulator bench
  • Oscilloscope and meter circuit analysis
  • Clear report of what failed and why
  • Honest advice when repair isn't worth it

How it works

From failed to fixed

  1. Call, text, or email

For the fastest quote, send us your name and phone number or email, along with the vehicle's year, make, model, and VIN, the part number from the module's label, and any symptoms or trouble codes.

  2. Free Pickup

We pick up the module or cluster* anywhere in the Treasure Valley, then test it on the bench to verify the issue(s).

*We can pull the clusters from the vehicle. We do not pull modules.

  3. Repair & program

Once confirmed, we repair the board and program/update the module or cluster as needed.

  4. Free return

The module or cluster is tested on the bench again and delivered back to you, ready to install*.

*We will reinstall the cluster if we pulled it.

About

Who we are

Precision Electronic DX was founded by Bert, an electrical engineer who has been working in automotive electronics since 2007. His background is in fields where failure isn't an option, from aviation test equipment to semiconductor manufacturing machines. We bring that same standard to vehicle modules.

We have also done engine rebuilds and full vehicle repairs, so we understand how each module works within the whole vehicle, not just on the circuit board. We built our own simulator bench to test modules outside the vehicle, and we'll tell you honestly whether a repair makes sense.

Engineering
